Meet Alexis Brett, a British mother who made headlines as the first woman in the UK to give birth to ten boys in a row. After the birth of her youngest son, Rothagaidh, two years ago, Alexis believed her family was complete. But life had other plans! At the age of 39, just a few weeks ago, Alexis welcomed her 11th child—a baby girl named Cameron. Over the past 18 years, Alexis has spent more than eight of those years pregnant, and she couldn’t be more thrilled with her big, loving family.

After ten boys, the arrival of baby Cameron has changed the dynamics in the Brett household. Her older brothers are more careful and considerate, showing extra attention to their little sister. The boys have become better behaved overall, bringing even more joy to their parents, who had expected another boy. Although the pregnancy wasn’t planned, it has filled the family with happiness. Alexis is confident this will be their last child, saying, “There’ll be no more. I said that last time, but this time, I mean it. I love my family just the way it is now.”

Raising eleven children is no easy feat, and Alexis and her husband, David, have faced their share of challenges. Some people have unfairly judged them, assuming they rely on government benefits, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. David works as a train driver, and the family doesn’t qualify for full child benefits. Alexis makes the most of her mornings before the children wake up, enjoying a peaceful coffee and shower. While managing the chaos of 11 kids means endless laundry and cleaning, Alexis plans to return to work part-time as a fitness instructor soon.

Their story reminds us that life’s surprises can lead to incredible joy and happiness, even when things don’t go as planned.
